Don’t jump to conclusions after looking at the title of this article. We know you think of Too Short as the supreme whistle blower and probably have never heard of the glorious city in Malaysia called Alor Setar City; let alone its mayor Khazali “Let’s get hyphy” Din and what he’d doing about litter in this capital city of Kedah, Malaysia.
Like many of us here in the USA, Din is getting fed up with all of the trash the city residents are throwing in the streets. He’s tried education campaigns repeatedly, but to no avail. He’s not giving up, however. He’s had to resort to equipping his officials with whistles they are to blow when they see people trashing the streets.
“I’ve been trying so many methods, but they failed. I think this is the best way because people will feel embarrassed when they are caught red-handed,” Din explained. He went on to describe how his officials were going to get Medieval on their asses, “Some offenders may be let off with a warning, without having to face the full music. Officers have yet to learn the correct way to pounce on litterbugs and act on the spot and on the dot.”
The campaign has already begun. The people that are busted get a fine the equivalent of $85 USD. This anti-litter campaign is to last until the end of the year. That’s dandy, but some residents want to get hyphy and try to stack some paper. Getting paid is what works for these motivated residents. They are suggesting monetary rewards for civilians that blow the whistle.
Here’s where life gets tough and we have to get like Bush and “ask the tough questions”. If you were tasked by the city of Alor Setar to hire Too Short or Negaraku to help get the city clean by blowing the whistle at the litterbugs, which one would get the job done?
Too Short: From East Oakland, bi&^%!
OR
Negaraku: rapper from the streets of Malaysia
I choose Too $hort. He is from Oaktown, after all.
